Conference and AGM / October 13 & 14, 2006 (PDF)
Welcome
The Saskatchewan Straight And Gay Alliance is a Special Subject Council of the Saskatchewan Teachers' Federation. We are a group of teachers working together to end homophobia, promote an understanding of sexual diversity in Saskatchewan schools, and support an inclusive education system. We seek to create learning environments where teachers, students, staff, parents, and community members feel safe and welcome, regardless of their sexual orientation.
SSAGA is open to all educators in Saskatchewan, regardless of sexual or gender orientation. We we l come, as members, pre-service teachers, admini s trators, teachers, support staff, professors, and all others in the learning community who support equity.
As Canadians, it is our responsibility to respect all diversity: language, ethnicity, race, religion, age, range of ability, gender, and sexual orientation. As teachers, it is our responsibility to ensure that our schools are a safe space for everyone who enters.
Safe Space Campaign

    JOIN OUR SAFE SPACE CAMPAIGN!
We encourage everyone in the learning community to take part in the Saskatchewan Straight And Gay Alliance's Safe Space Campaign. To support our allies and encourage a broader sense of acceptance and understanding, SSAGA has produced a set of resources centred around the Safe Space sticker shown above. Along with the sticker, SSAGA offers a larger poster, and a brochure entitled "Understanding Sexual Diversity" which includes homophobia and bullying information and support. With this set of Safe Space resources, everyone in the learning community can take responsibility for acceptance, understanding, and safety.
